Mending Poetry at Minx in Asheville, NC Saturday, Feb. 28th, 2026
a 1 day class:

We all have them:
-the shirts/jeans/moth eaten sweaters, or dresses that just need to be mended or edited in some way to make them wearable, work for us, or fit again.

This class is for that pile.
Actually, it’s even better than that, this class will teach you how to take a tear, a rip, or a flaw and turn it into the thing you love the most.

We’ll learn how to paint-with-thread. From Japanese mending techniques, to paint-like embroidery including beading and subtle repairs, we’ll mend & create beauty through fiber together.

We’ll also go over some gentle tailoring techniques to adapt pieces to your style and your body’s needs.

Kick off night for these special Minx series of classes is on Friday night, February 20th at 6:30. This evening is for all Minx students.
The magical evening will start upstairs in the gorgeous upstairs atelier space with a talk about clothes and the body from world renowned teacher & designer, Sarahbeth Larrimore.

Afterwards, join us downstairs in the store for apero of bubblies and small bites. Meet the incredible women of Minx and your fellow classmates.

Mending Poetry Class starts on February 28th at 10 am with a break at noon. We will resume at 1 pm and go until about 4:30. This is a one day class.

If you have them, definitely bring pieces that need a little help, or come just as you are and some fabric will be provided for practice.

Included for class: a beautiful kit of rainbow of embroidery floss & needles, seam ripper, measuring tape, beads, hand needles (both embroidery and hand needles), booklet and more.

Class is limited to 10 students.
