Join in the Queen Robe Project:

An inspirational sewing adventure crafting a purposeful and beautiful robe of your dream dust.

The next Queen Robe Project enrollment opens in the fall of 2024.
Would you like to be the first to know?

Dream it into realization:

Your dreams are your magic.

  • Dream it.

It all begins with an idea.

What do you dream of stepping into when out of the bath, rising from bed, lounging with your journal?

What do you take your morning coffee wearing? Is it linen, cotton, silk? Does it have long sleeves, short cufffs, no sleeves, kimono edges?

Will you throw in a hidden pocket, or embroider the words most dear to your heart in the panels?

How do you want it to make you feel?

We’ll have a live online class on fiber, fabric and the design & dreaming process.

  • Build it.

5 rectangles and a willingness to try:

    2 sleeves

    2 fronts

    1 back

    You can add:

    lining, or not

    ties, or buttons

    a rectangular neck collar

    or sleeve ties…

    * Included in the Build section are adjustable front & back torso sloper pdf patterns for you to print out with detailed drawings and instructions about how to achieve your robe design dreams.

We’ll have a live online class on sloper adaptation.

  • Sew it.

Sewing is simple. It really is.

Ripping out seams is normal. So are crooked bits; no one will notice, and neither should you.

We’ll sew our robe with ease and delight. Sewing the pieces, listening to music, growing excited to try the queen robe on. And taking a break when frustrations arise.

What we want is a piece you feel delicious wearing, something that evokes your essence. A robe that can be washed, and worn, for a decade or two.

My queen robe is still a treasured piece. I’ve worn it happily for 10 years & look forward to 10+ more.

Sewing is simple & we’ll learn it in an intuitive way.

We’ll have a live online beginning sewing class.

The Queen Robe Project is the answer to:

-I wish I could, but I’ve never:

-sewn
or
-adapted a pattern
or
-envisioned & tried something like this before

or maybe most importantly:
-owned or made something that celebrates my body

Creating our dreams is easier than you think. So let’s start here. Let’s make something simple that is both beautiful and useful.
We’ll adapt a pattern sloper by leaning into understanding a bit about our body & measurements, why pieces work, loose fit, and joy in the creating process.
You will be guided and learn a bit about the beginnings of pattern creation.

The Queen Robe Project is a primer on creating what you long to wear through design, planning, and sewing.

What’s included:

  • Downloadable front and back torso sloper,

  • Teaching Videos,

  • Photos & drawings of step-by-step options & processes,

  • Both audio recordings & written detailed guidance & instructions,

∞ But more than all the technical details, the Queen Robe Project is about taking a moment to sink into the worthiness of your being, dream of what you’d like to be enveloped in, and create it with your own two magical paws. ∞

The next session will be in the fall of 2024
Please do sign up to learn when enrollment opens.

Is that always the price?:
No, the price has gone up already from the pilot class amount. Each time I add a live class component and/or as the class value increases, so does the price. Sign up for my mailing list for early bird specials.

Class Size: I do limit the class size so that I can reasonably answer students questions. It varies on how many students enroll in each session before the enrollment closes, but rest assured you won’t be in an online class with 100 people, or even 50 for that matter.

Enrollment: The moment you sign up, you’ll have early access to the Dream It step, the yardage/meterage information & workbook download. The rest of the course opens a couple days before our first live online class.

When can I take it/ How long do I have to take the Queen Robe Project? You have access to the course material for life.
Online classes are on Saturdays EST. After it ends you will have access to the entire course, workbook, and sloper downloads & for life through your legacy login. The 3 live online classes are at the set dates. You can spread the content out to fit your own schedule, working through at your own pace, attend the 3 live online classes with your classmates and then return to whatever piece you need whenever you need it.

3 Online Live Classes included:

  • Fiber, Fabrics & Dreams: A class on the flow, hand, and qualities of different fibers as well as peering into how they translate to your dreams & designs.

  • Sloper Editing Class: The 2nd online live class on editing the slopers

  • Beginning Sewing Class: Bring all your questions, nothing is too silly.

What if I can’t attend the live classes what do I do? Not to worry, I created the course to be a complete self led adventure with ample videos and instructions; the live classes are really bonuses, places to receive help, and grow confidence. But if you feel like you need a 1-on-1 consult, I have a limited number of private 30 or 60 minute help sessions available for purchase by enrolled students.

My style isn’t like yours will this still work for me?
YES!!! Absolutely. My first passion is supporting your style/look dream vibe. The entire first step of this course is about reaching for your personal style and designing your robe from that place. There is a mini-class also available to support that work if you need to dig in a bit deeper to uncover your style essence.

FAQS

What if I’ve never sewn before?
This is the course for you!! Making a robe is simple and we walk through each little bit of how to do it.

Do I need a sewing machine? Probably best. While you can hand sew it, it’s an easy piece, that will take a while. 1 machine stitch will do you, we just need a simple straight stitch to make the robe.

How much time will I need to spend on it? How much time you spend on each segment is up to you! You can work through each class (there are 3 segments) over 2 weeks at a good clip, but the information has depth for more if you’d live to really dive into your creative process.

If you’re brand new at sewing, understanding patterns and adapting them, then you might want to sit with the lessons for a bit, but if you’ve sewn anything before and have a clear vision about the robe you want to make, you can absolutely have a gorgeous custom designed Queen Robe in a month.

So really? As much time as you want.
This course is designed to be more than just “make-a-robe”. It’s been created to give a holistic understanding of the body, how patterns fit the body, to ignite your personal design dreams, and crystalize your badass empowerment about what a worthwhile being you are.

Is fabric included? Nope! You will discover your fabric design and style needs through the Dream It step and purchase your fabric & accoutrements separately.

Do you give refunds? If after reading through the info & FAQs, you still have questions and are unsure if this course is for you, please reach out to me.

The course & unique sloper patterns are full of my 20 years of professional work and knowledge, I don’t offer refunds but I do want to make sure that this course fuels your creative process and is a good fit.

A journey overview:

If you can only work on your Queen Robe on the weekends or a few evenings a week, that’s more than enough. The process can look like:

Week 1 & 2: Dream It

Week 3 & 4: Build It

Week 5 & 6: Sew It

Or yours could look different: dream for a month, build it in a couple days, sew it on a weekend.
Or you could take a month for each step. Your way is the right way.
