Some of you have been kind enough to tell me that you miss the gratitude friday series. And as it’s been a really moving week, I’m overflowing with gratitude so I thought we’d do this again. Also, I’m neck-high in intense upcoming events & stress -it’s always fulfilling to be grateful for a minute.

    This week I’m grateful for:

Brides with an outstanding sense of humor. Do y’all know about mascara yoga? I didn’t either but it’s some good stuff.

    The garden.

    Red: Poppies. Fabric. Hearts.

My Makeup at the Grove team. Wow. Thank you.

Facebook? Yes. Sorry. Facebook. Y’all have overwhelmed me and uplifted so many folks in our fight against Amendment 1.

    Baptists. That love their neighbors.

A cd. Getting me through. And Alabama Shakes’ Hold On in particular.

    Holy Basil.

Fantastic models who are also pals.

    Coffee.

Ideas in the studio. And knowing when to scrap them.

Surrender. Even though I’m not any bit of good at it.

Salem Academy. The outpouring of support from my Salem sisters has been incredible. My 4 years there were magical, full of hard work, and amazing lessons. And I came away changed. Thank you all.

    My daddy.

    My momma.

And the rest of my family & friends. Most grateful for y’all. Because every day, you continue to rise. You continue to show up. You continue to bring me to my knees in prayers of gratitude.

It’s friday. I’m finding I need to share my gratitudes this week. For the month and the year so far.

    I’m grateful for:

    Grace, Graciousness, and Gracia.

    Prayer.

    Finding peace in a storm.

Solace. In movement. In silence. In friendship.

    Work to do.

    Creativity.

The muses. When you need them.

    Thunderstorms.

    Runs to set us right.

    Firefighters who rescue.

Apple’s who give us good medicine.

The return of old kindred comrades. And their infectious laugh.

Dance parties on friday morning. That Vega thinks she can dance too.

The heart. Being bigger. Than you think.

    The sunrise. Every morn.

    Superstition Irises finally blooming.

Y’all know I have a thing for the word magic. Maybe too much? Nah. How can there be too much?

While I love a good old bippity boppity boo just as much as the next fairytale lover – these little daily bits of sparkle are making my week:

This morning I was sitting with my coffee – typing business emails and checking the clock for yoga time (magic in and of itself) and low and behold – the fedex dude drove up & delivered to me a big old box marked Pumpkin Hill (what I sentimentally call the house) it was chock full of fancy french broad chocolate. With no sender’s name.

And then there was this quote from a friend:

“Seriously y’all, have any of you looked in a mall lately? Its like an alternate reality in there! Who wears that stuff!? and then Unabashed apparel gives us the new season. Thank you universe… all is well again.”
Now that’s some powerful robin’s breast puffing out type of stuff.
    And handmade ginger tea.
And a business elf. I’ll share her one day.
    And an early green spring.
And another amazing collection in the shop. Ready to find friends and new homes.
And that you’re ready to make its acquaintance too.
Shop Update happened. Go check it out. Because I hear the mall is full of neon.

p.s. those shorts? Look good on a curvy gal too.

    Posted in: Gratitude Friday

    January 19th 2012

Small and simple coincidences that feel like the sweetest kind of gifts are being given to me today:
Meeting a man with great style – I’m telling ya, I love a well dressed gent.
Running into a fabulous potter with a beautiful spirit who gifted me two lovely bowls. I have inspiration for my pottery class now.
Meeting a really lovely potential model for f/w12. Starting to feel trickles of inspiration to start again.
Having a new theme song – stuck in my head. With the right tempo for my life right now.

This Little Piece of Gloriousness shared by my pal Angie: An Open Letter to the Fat Girl I Saw at Hot Yoga – yep it’s hysterical – and it’s also  well put – about the point of yoga (or as my grandma calls it – yogurt).

This lineup of meals – not because it’s a “cleanse” but because it’s 2 weeks of healthy vibrant good-for-your-soul whole foods.

    Almost New Years.

This year was a whirl of goodness and hard work and deadlines and standing up and getting over and letting go and moving on and making changes and starting new.

Last year I resolved to have less-but-better.

This year I’m tackling angst and unnecessary crap cluttering up my ability to see. I’m over clothes that make me rearrange myself 18 times during the day. And I feel that way about my inner bits too.

I’m done with some of the bullshit.

If it doesn’t serve me or others -it’s finding a new home. And so I’m:

Going to be posting less often but sharing better thoughts/updates/inspirations.

Embarking on a one of a kind adventure. I’ll be featuring a special item every so often in the atelier and in the online shop that is both breath-taking and unique. Look for the first one in February.

Ending the Gratitude Friday series. It feels like it’s time.

Meeting change with jubilation and a firm hand shake.

Taking naps without feeling a bit of guilt.

And growing some of the best pumpkins my bit of the mountains have seen (thanks Apple).

As it’s our last Gratitude Friday, I’m going to tell you that I’m most grateful for your readership, support, comments, cheers, kindness, and help.

Let’s keep prodding one another forward.

    Shine on dear folks.
