I’d been hankering after Lauren Haupt Jewelry for a while. And like most hankerings, when I had a good reason to fulfill it – I did.

And then I lost one of her fabulous earbobs the first night I wore them out – to a large fashion show. I wanted to cry in my whiskey for a day or two, instead, I emailed her and asked if she’d be willing to sell me one 1/2 a pair to replace my lost friend. She would, graciously, and we struck up a great little conversation about independent artist entrepreneurship and the like.

    Which led to this:

Needless to say, I now own several of her lovely pieces and I wear them constantly. I love simple – spot on design. I’m sure you do too. Lauren has been a favorite seller on etsy for quite some time as well. She’s known as Local Library there. Visit her website to learn more. She’s one talented, humble and gracious lady. It was a dream to use her work in an Unabashed apparel photoshoot. Thanks Lauren!

This is the first in a series of Collaborator posts for the F/W11 shoot.

Chris Perryman of Domus Aurea Woodworking, is one fabulous guy.

Before I knew Chris, I fell in love with his art. In two separate stores in downtown Asheville, I fell in love with two very different pieces. Years later I became friends with Chris, and low and behold, looking through his portfolio I came across both of those amazingly made pieces of art furniture.

Award winning, hard working and extremely professional, I can’t praise the work and the work ethic  of Chris nearly enough. Luckily for us, he consented to let us borrow some amazing folding chairs and handmade boxes for the shoot. Some day I’ll have him agree to build a fantastical set purely for my pleasure, until then, enjoy these shots. View more of Chris’ fabulous work by visiting his website or contact him at goldsplinter@charter.net
