Do you find you’re almost always living in an in-between when it comes to your duds and the seasons? Layering all your clothing throughout the year -that’s the 5th season to me. Always happening.
My pretty comfort layer under the puffy coat I thought I’d never own – (denver).
A long silk dress with a sweater and my duck boots. Winter sludge soldiers.
Two weeks ago I went as westerly as I could go. Visiting my pals and my brother & his Marlana in OR. Moma came along too. We met one of Andrew’s friends. He’s got some real treasures in gentle-pals. This one, Erick Bruce – is a gem. I’m ready to start him a fan club. Turns out – he’s a hellava photographer. More on him tomorrow.
We went to the beautiful pacific coast on our tour of southern OR. I love the west coast – I howl about it. Marlana threw on a couple of tops for me and we caught some photos. The weather was lovely. The sun was perfect. I’m in love with southern OR: the silken barked Madrone and Manzanita trees – the green rivers, moss and ferns, the blooming trees & quince shrubs. I think the rainy chilly Pacific coast is probably somewhere the 5th season always applies.
The Manzanita: A favorite lightweight sweater top. Sheer cashmere and tencel. Pale lavender mist with hand dyed silk ribbon ties at the side. 3 silver beads at the neckline that look like wee fishermen weights. It’s pretty darn perfect:
The Madrone: Pale golden beige silk top. Reminds me of sand – east coast sand or great lake sand. Reminds me of candlelight. It glows a bit, this piece. Little forest green embroidery added and a nifty gathered shoulder detail. It’s full and a little cropped. Knot it in the front. Wear it loose over a lace or cotton camisole:
Online Shop will be updated with these beauties on the first day of Spring. Cheers!
oooh, SB, I looooove these! Manzanita may need to make her way back down the tobacco road…These pictures are divine, and I am so impressed by Marlana and company. And how much do I love that your mom was there?!? HEARTS!!! xo
