As y’all know – I work a couple days at the fancy fabulous Waechter’s Fine Fabrics. What you might not know is that very soon I’ll be leading a great expedition into uncharted sewing territory, actually it’s just an informal sewing class/ studio/ community led get-together of the fancy fiber arts.
We’ll be sewing, and sharing ideas and learning things together.
We’re calling it the Next Generation Sewing Studio, but what I mean is, if you’re around 18-40ish and you want to sew, learn some things, share some things and foster a community of exchange and help – then come on by. It’ll be on a couple of Saturday mornings a month at the grand ole Waechter’s store. 10am until 12.
This Saturday marks our first gathering – a wee meet and greet from 10 till 1pm. I’d love to see you – and hear what you’re interested in and what worries you about sewing.
This class isn’t for formally trained sewists who really want to perfect their fill in the blank. Nope – this is an informal help-along.
Let’s get inspired! November 12th from 10-1pm Waechter’s Fine Fabrics 9 D Reed St.
And this (almost Friday) I’m grateful for the chance to meet and help others. I’ve had a whole passel of outrageously helpful women teach me, laugh with me and inspire me along the way.
sb! any chance you’ll still be leading this fantastic group in December and mayhaps early 2012? Am moving back to the NC in mid-December. This sounds like a perfect place to land…xo
Hey Gal – yesm’ – the first “class” is Dec. 3rd. We’re going to have our little get-together-class-thing 2 sat. a month to start and then go from there. So I’ll put you on the email list so you’ll know when we’re meeting. I’d love to see you!
