The intersection of the finely made -embroidered, embellished and reality. A fine seam and a basic shape. A simple piece of fiber. Handmaid shaking hands with nobility. That’s where my art lies.
I want it simple and no nonsense but with golden thread running through. I’m drawn to the functional made beautiful and still hardy to the purpose. And I want a secret delight: a hidden ribbon, button or bead. Something that says, you own this piece for your own joy.
The Unabashed woman plays a mean fiddle. She can cuss a blue mile and laugh until she cries. She skinny dips and bakes a hellava pie. And once you think you’ve really got her figured, she’ll get into her 1970s pickup truck in a ballgown and go waltz all night.
The unabashed woman is complicated. And we wouldn’t take her any other way.
