This upcoming month will be nothing but fast and furious work and will hopefully end in a slew of fanciful and inspiring shows, shoots, and gowns.
I’ve been woken up at 4 am many mornings this week to light out of bed and head up to the studio. At 5:45 this morning I had a great gratitude:
I’m grateful for a studio loft in my very house. I’m grateful that I don’t have to drive across town in my pjs to do a little work when I’m suddenly inspired, or anxious about everything that needs to get done.
This Friday I thought we’d go for something with a bit of fancy because mainly this week, I’m grateful for the ability to work hard and fast when the game is on. I’m grateful for the inspirations that are arriving and nimble hands.
I’m grateful for artists: jewelry artists, photographers, fiber artists, makeup artists, graphic artists. We all inspire one another.
I’m grateful for a good eye.
I’m really really grateful for my dear friend Mary Anne’s amazing music. It’s gotten me through the 4am mornings and the 4pm evenings of diligent hand sewing.
I’m grateful for patrons and connoisseurs of art.
I’m grateful for a heart full of ideas and dreams.
And I’m grateful for themes. They inspire me, make me edit my vision and push me in new directions.
This Friday I thought we’d do a little dragon style:
First up is this ring from Satomi Kawakita – a jewelry designer that I constantly drool over:
Next – Anne Selby. Amazing. I want to rush out and spend a whole week working with shibori pleating and dying, but I can’t. I can just drool. I’ve loved this work for so long:
(I have a birthday coming up by the way… a big one… hint.)
And one more dragon look:
the Giant’s Causeway. You can’t tell me that if you were a dragon you wouldn’t live here.
I hope this has added a touch of inspiration in your life. Happy Friday. See you soon…
Your inspiration pieces are nothing but fantastic. What God given talent. Beautiful images, thank you for sharing.
