Got back from nyc – first real trip there. To help a friend. Who got a high fever. For most of my stay.
I didn’t take my camera as it wasn’t about that. Not that kind of trip. But I thought I’d share the thoughts that are bouncing back and forth in my dog-tired brain:
Cortados. Ruined regular coffee for me. Forever.
Dogs. Pee on the street. Vega would have been horrified. Wait. I walked on those streets. In dog pee.
Girls wear flimsy flippy floppy things on those streets – barely a barrier between them + dog business.
I hate flip flops. Nope. Really. Always have.
I am spoiled living in Asheville. Good food + green land + fabulous people. But I loved staring at the well dressed folks in ny. That bit was very refreshing.
It’s just as frustrating as you can imagine to be 2 hours from home and stuck in an airport for 2x that long waiting on a plane that almost didn’t land.
There isn’t anything much more beautiful than looking across the appalachian mountains flying on the horizon between a torrential thunderstorm, the sun and the shadows from those pounding clouds.
Almost 30 means being drenched in the downpour, trying to find your car in the long term parking lot- only to find its tire flat and you – ankle deep in puddles laugh hysterically instead of cry.
