I love the return of lighter evenings. I love being able to go for a run to shake off whatever negativity or worry has globed onto my skin throughout the day.
I’ve got small things I’m looking forward to in the coming months. Weeding, sketching and pulling back the gnarly branches to discover deep forests and all their secrets for the next line. Shaking out and turning loose of things that collect in the corners.
I’m most looking forward to creating a dressing room. I have this strange room before a room in my home. It has my giant Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe -wardrobe in it. And I have a pure fantasy Collection (with a capital ‘C’) of duds. I’ve decided to take the bull by the horns. Or maybe the sprite by her dress, and really make this room – which I refer to as The Anti-chamber into a magical place.
I’ve admired a painter for quite some time and I feel like her moody glossy oils may fit just perfectly in this gilded space. Her name is Susan Luke. Take a peek:
I have loved her dark deep burgundy reds and plums for a while – but that painting called Milk and Sugar (the second one of-course) has snatched my heart straight away. See more of her fabulous work here.
I’ve been searching for oil paintings this week. These are pretty special!
Agreed! They are very glossy in person. I love deep colors in combination with gloss.
