It’s not quite Friday and I know what I’m grateful for.
I’m grateful for first loves – the type you never get over. The love that lasts pure and strong. It’s almost so fierce and so loyal because of the surprise of feeling. The astonishment that your heart and your arms could hold so much. You don’t get over the firsts -nothing is as sweet and as fervent:
The first dog (Gabe) The first time you become a Momma (unknown) The first romantic love (I’m not telling) The first tree you climbed up, read a book -or slept in (a large dogwood in a hidden wood) The first kindred spirit (allison -in preschool) The first heroine (the anne-girl) and it hit me so hard this week looking over all the lines we’ve shot and shared and the one left to come – I am so very grateful for my first true love of a photographer –Jana.
What a magical eye. Thank you for sharing your talents Jana. I am endlessly grateful for you.
And a few other gratitudes:
I have hellebores. It was a hard long transplanted year – and they made it and are blooming in spite of being moved – constantly.
Daffodils. It was such a warm February here that I’m overly ready to meet them.
The return of plants I planted in the fall. Fall planting is always a worry to me. Only the hardy survive.
The luxury of a little bit of earth to plant things in.
A fabulous new dress. Slow sewing – like slow food – I love when draping turns out right.
A wonderfully received s/s line. Thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and support. It means the world to me.
and I am grateful that there are people in this world, like yourself, who always seem to find the perfect words…beautiful!
Oh – thank you so much Beth. That means quite a lot.
and I am grateful for wonderful, inspirational business women and creative, like you, and ma thankful for your support. xx
Jane – right back at you!
