I love yuletide traditions. Fragrant evergreen branches, lit trees, candles, fireside stories and carol singing. I trudge out the troops (whatever troops happen to be staying with us or around) and we go cheer gathering. It’s one of my most favorite things. And we always have cheer-poopers. People that act more like Scrooge and less like CindyLouHoo. Doesn’t faze us happy cheer folks. This year I opted out of getting a tree. We will be visiting elsewhere for the week of Christmas. I went for holly and garland.
Gathering – they love it.
One of the cheer-poopers did, however supply us with a very very good wassail recipe and now I’ll know what I’m singing about as I “Go a wassailing, Among the Leaves of Green!”
Happy cheer gathering, draping, and creating!
I hope someone brings me some wassail while I make candles outside at Salem tomorrow. Burrrrr!
