Two

Sep 30, 2010 - 4 comment(s)

Our Goddaughter is turning two. I bought this Liberty of London Sweet Pea fabric before she was born. I just knew she was going to be a redhead. It should fit her for sometime. I try to make my wee littles clothes that way. I remember crying when I outgrew my favorite dresses. (pitching a fit actually)

On another note – I always seem to be wearing these boots in my studio. And drinking coffee. That should be a requirement for visitors, come bearing coffee.

Ah – just one more:

Satisfied

Not many words – just – here in the studio. Satistfied -a word I rarely get to use. Oh and a November shoot is quickly approaching and I’ve got collaborations so good it makes you want to smack your Momma. A wee sneak peek:

Yep. I want to keep -or gift them all! So talented. I love an artist that can do simple -right. I hope that’s said of me one day.

I love a rainy Monday.

Gratitudes

I’ve been a bit absent from the world wide web this week. And it’s been refreshing. I’ll be back with so many exciting things to share next monday. Until then:

Such a week. Brimming with gratefulness.

I’m grateful for:

Listeners

Compassion and camaraderie being returned with ferociousness to me

The start of sweater season

That I have to make up a couple more pieces already! Whoop!

Vegadog

Interviews

That the fight with mold is almost won

Tidiness – my oh my. The studio is sashaying and swaying.

It’s been a good week, how about you?

Friday Type of Grateful

Oh there are so many things to be grateful over:

When I show my rump, my friends and family still love me. Let me tell you, I can be a storm cloud.

Thankful for forgiveness.

Thankful for co-conspirators – like Emily Christensen, see more about her in yesterday’s post – find more about her here

Thankful to be the contributor to Waechter’s fancy spiffed up blog

And so grateful for patient web designers.

And crisp evenings and cool mornings – with hot coffee.

For best friends who drive to get to you when they aren’t sure why.

For this birthday present that sums it all up:

Happy Friday.

You need to know these two. One you may already, the other, a west coast gal with such poignancy. You need to know them.

Meet filly & Emily Christensen. I’ve been a fan for a while. I love her fall collection. I love it’s sweet simplicity. And it’s details, you know I’m a sucker for details. I love her words too. So often she sums it all up for me – what it’s like to love fiber and flow and the environment around your body. How you meld all those things to try and explain that. The struggle that is picking one road to express yourself, when you care about so many other paths.

If you live on the west coast, check out her Friends of Filly tour.

The estate dress, my favorite pick of her collection this fall.

And then there’s John. I like saying his name like that, like I know him. He’s one of the big guys out there in organic apparel design. I’m grateful to him for all his work and dedication. Taking organic apparel to the tip top level. That’s important too. Here he is with his s/s11 line. All that grey, you know I love some grey. Unabashed apparel has quite a bit of grey in store for s/s11 too.

Happy Thursday.
