There is something about late August that demands me to visit the garden shop. Maybe it’s the cool wind and promise of rain. And lets be honest, I haven’t ventured into the garden much for the entire 2nd half of July and 1st half of August. A gal only like to glisten so much. Non Southerners -that means sweat. A dirty word. Sweat.
So I pull out my favorite terracotta pottery – the infamous G. Wolfe, and I visit my local garden shop after pouring bags of cow doodle all over the garden beds, and I purchase rose bushes. And wee ferns. A small point of help, the garden shop folks do NOT like it when you tell them you kill all your house ferns like clockwork on month 10.
Ah well, my favorite line in the bible is all about making a joyful noise unto the lordy. I mean how great is that? God isn’t interested in you sounding just like an angel, nope, she just wants you to go forth with great spirit and enthusiasm. MMhhmm. Happy fall-like-mornings. Buy some ferns.
Wow! I actually stood and stared at a fern in the store this moring. I now feel the need to turn my sleeping space very green with all different types of ferns just now. And here you are talking about ferns……………………….
